I'm fine with a DVD, I care more about the movie itself then fancy colours. The only Blurays I own are mostly drawn animation, especially Ghibli movies, and a few Sci-Fi flicks. DVDs look pretty good in a player with a proper upscaling feature.
If I can get a DVD on a flea market for 1€ I don't bother buying something else.

i bet after 10 min into a film you wont even see any difference between 720p and 4k

i just hope they start making better movies not players...now every kid will be buying transformers 10 so they can watch it on their 4k TV

Don't have a 4k tv, still waiting for the tv I have to break down no sense in buying a new tv when I have a perfectly fine one for a bit better of visuals.. 4k hasn't been taken advantage of enough yet and the 4k tvs will only get cheaper over time :D

so we need a 4k blu ray player I assume to play said movies? Also is the price of 4k blurays comparable to regular blurays?

$30 is a common price i am seeing for true 4k uhd

Which is why it makes sense waiting until they become the norm, and drop down to $20.

A lot of movies say "mastered' in 4k, which are cheaper, and I would imagine not as good

The rest of us will wait for the inevitable price drop later this year.
