While the books had the Solo twins, remember that Leia is Force-sensitive, as well. She knew that Luke was her brother. I think she would have known if Rey was her own daughter. My money is on Luke being her father. The way she was drawn to his lightsaber, and how she reacted when she touched it is a good indicator, as well.

Chewbacca is going to be in full-on revenge mode in the next movie.

I feel like the movie gave us a little hint that Leia knew about it.

In the movie, replacement female yoda asked han who Rey really is and he smirked then the scene cut away, implying han knows something. If he didn't he would have said he didn't know in the scene. Plus look at how quickly he offered her a job.

I think the best explination is she is Luke's daughter. Kylo turned dark causing luke to hide his very young daughter from everyone. Why didn't he just take her with him? Many possible reasons, could be that would be too easy to find together, similar to why Luke and Leia had to be separated. Or maybe Luke thought his time growing up the way he did was important to his training, considering pure training from birth lead to Kylo, and he wanted his daughter to go through the same thing he did.

Yes, and the way Han/Rey kept saying the same things was, to me, an overt message to the audience that there is a connection between them.

But if he knew then why did he basically not give a fuck when she was captured?

Rey is Han's kid, they really couldn't have hinted at it any harder.

I think what we should speculate the most is Rian Johnson directing Episode 8.

He doesn't have many big name films, not even close to what Abrams has. It kind of worries me a little.
