Pilot was alright. Don't really care for spinoffs although I tuned in mostly just to see Coopers entire role in the show, if he was going to be a main character or not. First 20 or 30 minutes they basically just ripped off a huge plot from the actual movie, which had me at points not even wanting to actually watch the rest of the episode. Not really liking the direction it looks to be headed in either. Has sort of a 'the mentalist' feeling to it with the whole teaming up with the FBI thing, but I'm going into the next episode with a open mind about it.
It definitely got a bit better overtime, I will be looking forward to the next episode.

Ye but cooper has plans for him :-) or so i hope

Started playing out just like the movie did, then it veered into new territory. It'll be interesting to see how it develops. Hopefully Cooper will actually be a regular cast member like he said he would.

the concept is nice for a movie, but does it entail enough to make 1-2 seasons? what directions will they take this? I'm kinda curious but i'm also highly sceptical they'll get more than a season or 2.

sure, but that's comparing apples to oranges. How do you keep a show about some super brainiacs doing superintelligent stuff, entertaining and engaging enough? I see some conflict over the controll of the drug in it's harmless form (with the substitution from the guy from the movie) but how long can you drag such a conflict on and keep it interesting? A zombie apocalypse already has the sheer conflict against the new nature filled with biters and on top of that, strife for resources creates easy conflicts and it leaves room for boatloads of character development. How interesting is it to see someone dodge every conflict using his brain? There is potential, but there must be a good direction for the show to go to if they want to have any chance beyond a season or 2.

Not the writers apparently.

But it's for entertainment, we can let it slide.
