I definitely wouldn't put the "mindfuck" tag on it.
why not?
I am solely basing this off of the movie, not the book.
the premise of the movie is "what are you thinking" and that alone is a mind-fuck.
By the end of the movie, the audience is left with a painful, extraordinary curiosity of whether or not his wife is going to try to kill him again. He will never again trust her.
The movie does a complete 180 flip from showing her being abused and scared of her husband, to him being scared of his wife.
If those thoughts don't mess with minds, I don't know what does, ESPECIALLY in a relationship.
