and the ability to make money while important in our society, does not in my opinion contribute to who he is as a human being

and from what i can see, he has no redeeming qualities

His movies might be shit (for the mostpart) but he's ten times more interesting as a director than Michael Bay or Zack Snyder or Joss Whedon which is what I was saying in my original post. His movies might be shit but atleast he has a vision which makes him ten times more interesting than the previously mentioned directors who's allowed to make movies on virtually unlimited budgets.

He's a terrible director. Various Netflix Original programming has better direction than what Boll is able to produce.

I don't have an opinion on Boll as a person (...at least, I didn't, prior to his temper tantrum video,) but he's a TERRIBLE, terrible director. How he's managed to make as many films as he has is just short of amazing to me.

Rampage has a cult following, of course with that film he's trying to reach angry nihilistic edgelords which is a pretty nieche market but the demograph for that film enjoyed it.

Either way my point being, if his product is shit or not dosen't matter, what matter is he stays true to producing shit because he honestly believes what he makes is good. To me an artist sticking with his gut and not making compromises is worth more than what say Znyder does which is pandering to the lowest common denominator in order to make as much money as possible, that's what we should be bashing.

And to be completely honest with you: if I had to sit through either Rampage 2 or Sucker Punch again i'd chose Rampage 2 every time.
