You'll probably get better feedback at a site like that deviantart place or cgtalk. I am a gamer and expect any cinema/video to be at a professional "blizzard" level and give me instant gratification when i play or watch something, so I probably can't give the kind of artistic feedback that will help you.

That said, the narration kind of put me to sleep. There's a difference between telling someone a story and showing them. Like the part where the narrator says "he heard monsters in the trees", but when you listen to it, I didn't really hear any monsters. The narrator was just telling me he heard monsters in the trees but I didn't get to hear it for myself.

Too much narration imo, show me don't tell me. Not a whole lot of environmental/ambient sounds and noises that add to the mood and surroundings.

Art fields are difficult because an average no-talent joe like me can tell when a video, drawing, or painting isn't blizzard quality. You can kick my ass at sound effects and video and you're way better than me at it, but all I've been watching these past few years is blizzard quality stuff, so I can tell when something isn't quite up to that level yet. You've chosen a difficult field, good luck in your career bro!

thank u very much for the comment! very well written and i appreciate ur opinion!

You did a good job imo
Where did you source the sound effects and commentary?

Did you have to record all of your own audio?

Thank u m8!
I recorded most of the sounds. some of the ambient sounds were sourced from www.freesfx.co.uk also the horse running and yelling sounds were downloaded but the horse running sounds in particular required a lot of editting and pitch shifting to make them fit the animation. the narration is myself. i recorded myself as i wanted to do as many things myself as possible... it kinda didnt work well but that was the best i could do i think... given than with the other things in the background it kinda has to stand out yet still shouldnt mask the music or sound effects much. basically my main aim with it, as i knew that i wouldnt sound great, was to at least make it sound clear whilst still keeping the sfx and music still audible in the background.

Also, jsp isn't renound for friendly advice or constructive criticism.

Might I suggest submitting to a reddit sub, you'll get much better feedback there

yee i kinda felt i posted it in the wrong place after the first comment :p i'll try that too, thanks!

The point of it was to record sound effects and make music to suit the visual. its the kind of job seen in anime films for example
where u got something drawn and u have to put sound effects, ambiance and music on top of the drawings so that it is perceived as being real...

pls if u dont have any constructive criticism to share or u r extremely confused as to what the purpose of the video is refrain from posting anything at all.

well no it just seems like you made an amv with wow but rather than making it into a the "music" part of the amv you were doing some asmr slow paced storytelling maybe because i've never played wow this doesn't hit home with me. the confusion came from is everyone using this piece and making it there own? because it seems a little shotty for a tech prof to give a piece like this to work with on the other hand the accent is neat just wish the story was more interesting imo you should've done some pvping and made a story out of that something with a little more "pizzazz"

seeing this is a wow video you could also post it over there in that sf they may have a bit more respect for the game / videos people make. just not in trading grounds post it in discussions

nop, i made the video for the purpose of making music and sfx for it.
i understand ur view point for pvp and etc being more action heavy [i myself think the story itself isnt anything special] but my prof is very much against making this kind of video as generally fighting scenes can be exciting with very little, close to non sfx if u just put music on top of it. his view is that the visual shouldnt be the overpowering aspect of the assignment and so he wanted something more contemporary.

also, cos i had to make the video myself as well, if u think about it. a pvp video that would look like a movie would be very time consuming and hard to make having different camera views whilst the fight is going on whilst still looking cool.
this, very slow paste movie took me quite a while to record and edit. i imagine if i had to do a proper pvp movie in the style of anime fights and such... it would take me more than 1 month easily not to mention i'd need like 3 ppl at least to be recording stuff from different angles [2 the players themselves + 1 camera from the side].

again, i understand that the visual is boring, i was mostly looking for feedback on the audio aspect of it.
