I hear people talkin bout how great it is 24/7, I have never seen it but i think i will cave into peer pressure and watch it
There's a lot of haters but it's still good...and when it's good, it's reeeally good.
Part of the problem it runs into is it omits things from the comic that are important to the overall plot. Carl is a really good example. He's much more of a badass, especially considering he's around 9 or 10 when the whole thing starts.
Being cable television, AMC isn't going to show a little kid killing people, sometimes in cold blood. It's an important part of the plot, because we see how this young kid is forced to grow up way too fast. He's going to be his father's successor and he's willing to keep his people safe, no matter the cost. All of this goes on before he's 12.
On the show, his character doesn't have these developments at all. They often replace things he's done with adults. Yet, they still try and push him as a badass.
This is just one example and there's a few more. I'd suggest picking up the comic and watching the show together. Reading it, then getting to see it, makes for a better experience IMO.
