Yeah, maybe if DC had some of that Disney money, they might be in the same boat. But, alas, they still get by producing mediocre tv shows with Batman and Superman carrying the franchise. They're still here though...

Only on screen. On comics, I find DC so much better it's not even comparable.

DC puts the emphasis on the people, with the powers being an accessory for the storytelling, which is so much better for comics, but you need an all star crew, from actors to writers and the director, to pull it off on screen without looking cheap and tacky. Several heroes designs look outright stupid when transposed in the flesh as well.

Marvel, exception made of some of Francis Carmont's work, us basically powers vs powers, with the whole story revolving around that. That style of stuff is far easier to pull off on the screen, it will grab a wider audience.

As a teenager I was all x-men thus, x-men that. In my 20s I learned to broaden my horizons, now comics wise I really enjoy DC stuff more, while marvel is way better to me on screen.

I still think the Batman movies are better than what Marvel is doing, but it's close. And, I still think Batman V Superman is going to top anything done previously by Marvel. Just like I said Guardians was gonna be their biggest franchise.

I agree about batman, but one franchise isn't enough to compensate for the rest though, and influence the global picture.

Edit: I haven't seen guardians yet, is it really that good?

I don't care too much for the marvel movies but I watch them all the same with friends etc.

Guardians is by far the most enjoyable they've done. Only because it didn't feel like anything like the same old generic superhero movie that comes out every year


On the whole tv actors/movie actor thing - did I read waaaay back that the arrow guy was genuinely being considered to play green arrow in the dc universe movies?

Idk maybe I read it in some shitty forum or some kids wishlist
