There is an Anime out, supposedly 2014 release: Appleseed Alpha... it is so n so action, but the animation is really damn nice.
Found it on Yify... just google the DL... great quality/sound for me... 10/10 in that retro.

You should consider giving anime another shot, you just have to watch the right ones.

Berserk, Claymore, FMA Brotherhood, Bleach and Basilisk are a couple really good actions ones coming off the top of my head. Bleach is lengthy as fuck and Berserk/Claymore (if you get into it) will leave you wanting. The other two are both fairly short with solid stories and actual endings. Worth a try if you're bored and want to see some epic action in 30 minute intervals from time to time.

i think black lagoon would be a better suggestion.
the dub isnt bad and its more like an action flick.

The Raid as someone mentioned is really good, the second is terrible in my opinion but to each is own. At the very least do not miss the first
