What's the point of having a trailer that doesn't give any indication that the movie is about?

Unless of course, the move has no real plot or any thought put behind it, then that would be a good reason why the trailer had to be the way it was.

I prefer this kind of trailer to the kind that basically gives you the whole plot (i.e. 95% of trailers made lately).

Yeah, they are gonna blow your hair back with this one. The movie actually a dance battle musical based around the harsh reality of high school. The trailer did a perfect job of throwing you off the plot...

Sometimes great trailers - turn out to be awful movies. Usually they are completely different companies that do them.

You really never know until after the movie comes out.

If somebody made a list of Great trailers -that were superbad movies - you'd have to have The Hunger Games in that list and alot of other famous movies.

atleast now we know it's gunna be some michael bay tier shit, i prefer to this to a trailer that tries to sell movie as something it's not.

Have you even seen the original Mad Max movie with Mel Gibson? It had a sorry ass storyline [wife/kid murdered], he was an Interceptor cop that hunted down the
thugs over many miles killing and destroying what there was in the way and so on. Since this was an Australian movie, lower budget and not much of anything, it was
designed with destruction and mayhem but lacked what it could afford.

The trailer is pretty decent... it only showed action scenes, just wondering if the storyline goes with the original or is it after some of the other series.

EDIT: Michael Bay was not the originator of destruction and mayhem in movies.
