So the master speaks, kind of. Since they have no vocal cords and they communicate with telepathy (hence the hum the survivors are hearing in their head) It was odd that the one survivor's child fed on him even though he was already infected. Maybe he dodged that bullet only to become a happy meal. Loving this show so far.

Maybe I'm missing something but I'm certain the dad wasn't on the plane, how was he already infected?
