!!SPOILERS BELOW, ADVANCE ONLY IF YOU DON'T CARE OR WATCHED FINALE!!
The ending was a huge disappointment in my opinion. They dedicate an entire season to a wedding just to have them divorce at the end. They dedicate an entire series to Ted finding this mystery woman, and she dies. Then finally it ends with Ted getting with Robin. All of this would have been OK with me if it wasn't all jammed into one episode. It felt like "oh, well fuck we only have one more episode left so let's just jam 5 more seasons into one episode and call it a day!" You just can't have that many twists without more explanation and development. I knew in the end Ted would end up with Robin, but I felt like at the very least this season should have been more focused on everything contained in the final episode.
edit: OH I forgot to mention Barney. Ahhh, really? Thousands of women and randomly they decide to close his story up with having a kid with some random girl that has no relevance what so ever? Come on.
edit#2: just had a realization about Tracy, was no coincidence that her first true love also died. That was a big hint.
Was going to reply to this days ago but totally forgot lol.
Anyways, you dont need a spoiler alert in a thread made to talk about the episode, just fucking annoying.
Personally I have a much deeper appreciation for the show after the finale, there a re a lot of "little" things in the show that just wrap up very nicely at the end in ways you don't even expect.
For example, the episode where Barney steals his brothers baby, or when we find out Robin can't have kids, all of this kind of makes the divorce really obviously planned. And the baby at the end for Barney was a great choice imo. We got to see how he adored having a child before, and it is hinted at many times that a child is the only thing that could tie him down..and then he gets a little girl. It is important that the mother was random, else it would have taken away from the significance of the child, just like it is important it was a little girl, not a boy.
There were just so many subtle things over the course of the show...
