my mum made jokes about it being bad and how she was lost by the end of it and the place beyond the pines didn't exist i didn't want her to go into to much detail of what she meant cause i have yet to watch it so i left it at that

A) Don't take your "mum's" advice on movies anymore.

B ) The movie is not overly complicated at all, so you shouldn't be "lost at the end".

c) "The Place Beyond the Pines" DOES exist, you just have to sort of figure it out for yourself by the end.

D) I assure you, the movie was anything but "bad". It was (in my opinion of coarse) a fantastic movie from start to finish.

Without spoiling too much of the movie...

I thought it was... interesting. A little bit long and I didn't like Cooper's son and his random ghetto accent. Needed more gosling imo. But overall it was good.

I guess you don't know too many children of law enforcement officers, because I've seen quite a few turn out very similar to Cooper's son.

Yea, very good (especially first act), maybe the best of the year so far.

Don't read anything about it before watching it imo.

That scene where the kid was riding his bike down the same road had me tearin' up.

I also didn't fully understand the tag line "The Sins of the father..." in the movies trailer until the 2nd act. Which I thought was just as strong, if not stronger than the first.

I'm confused. You already saw 'The Place Beyond the Pines' , which film are you talking about that "looks pretty great"? What first scene?

This films cinematography looks pretty great for this kind of film, grainy and lively, trough some filter maybe? The opening shot of the movie seemed to be filmed in one shot, including the thing with the motorcycles and all.

Cinematographer shot also Hunger and Shame which looked really classy too.
