Nothing wrong with that :) As a hardcore Horror fan I just get annoyed when people make silly claims like 'the Shining is the best horror movie ever' and 'Leatherface is the scariest movie villain'.

Maggot from the August Underground Series is pretty Depraved. Way more disturbing than leatherface for sure. You guys are all casual horror fans I see...

Let's see... who else...  Vukmir from A Serbian Film is not exactly a stable human being.

You guys haven't seen anything if you think Leatherface is the most disturbing character in Horror.

you must be new around here.

That's because the shining is actually a good movie, and leather face doesn't have to rape children for shock points you pretentious little cunt.

Well that's a bit strong.

Regardless both movies are dated now. When Texas Chainsaw Massacre came out it was treated with the same revulsion as August Underground and a Serbian Film etc... But that was a long time ago. Tastes and times have changed. Those of us who watched these films as kids are no longer scared by what has become cookie cutter horror. Leatherface and his slasher film ilk have been repeated and recreated more times than I can count and the genre along with the concept is tired and ineffective.

As for the Shining... Well... Stephen King. Pretty much all I have to say about that. Don't get me wrong - I love the film. It was kinda creepy when I watched it at about 13-14 but nowadays it just doesn't have the same jolt. I appreciate the plot but it doesn't come close to frightening me.

To summarise - people said exactly the same thing about leatherface in 1974. Times change and Horror progresses. Everything is done for shock points. That's the entire point of horror. To get a reaction out of someone. I never said either of those films were good either - I was simply listing the most depraved and messed up Movie Killers I could think of - as the topic title requested.

If you think a deformed child who is mistreated and grows up to become a sociopathic killer is more evil thana priveleged man who purposefully manipulates a man into several murders and into violating his own child... there's something wrong with you. Leatherface I can empathise with. Maggot and Vukmir I can't.

Because Waterworld is not the answer to every question asked in MaTS.

I think you miss the point. If I empathize with a character, or fear a character its because of that characters development. You think you can compare un motivated slaughter to the reality of murder, murder for necessity, or murder for perversions with unmitigated violence, you're mistaken. Yea, august underground is shocking sometimes, and yes a Serbian film is a snuff film involving a family. Both are butal and hard to watch but they lack substance, they are nteothing more than gratuitous gasp mongers. My list was thought out, its not about the most disgusting things I've seen, its which killers parallels well to reality, while still being unimaginable and allow me to vicariously dive into the mind of a killer.
