Saw it in theatres with my aunt when it first came out, So I was like 12 at the time, then usually catch on tv if there's nothing else on.

if Will Smith is in it, then fuck yes.
if not, it will flop.

No will smith would be a definite deal breaker.... oh hell, I hope they don't use his son as a replacement.

Independence Day sucked balls when it came out but did get good with age.

Compared to the crap cgi movies they put out today, Independence Day is a great movie.

I probably jinxed it.

I saw it just a month ago for prolly the 4-5th time, still as good as ever. You've got nothing to fear.

For the sequel.. Makes me sad to hear. As if any hollywood sequel made today will contain much more than "the greatest hits from the first movie - only 10 times more of it till it gets old!" with the other 80% of it being special effects?.. =/

Sounds interesting, so I will probably check it out.
