Finished it, it was quite good. The world and tone of the show are absolutely perfect, they nailed those. Characters were interesting the whole way through and the story kept you engaged

Side quests were all cool and the references were great the whole way through

I didn't like it.

Terrible casting, garbage acting, screwed up the entire story. I'm good.

To do it justice: cast a much better Ellie and make game 1 into 2 seasons minimum. Then maybe. As it stands they wasted their screen time on nonsense and didn't properly set up any of the pay off. Most things were forced cuz the story beats were already written. Instead of trying to set everything up properly within the show they ignored most things and just expected you to be okay with it when they forced the important plot points in with no prior set up. It was laughably bad tbh.

Edit: so far 3 episodes into the fallout show and it's pretty good. They do pretty stupid stuff like have a guy shoot 20 times then show him reloading his 4 shot gun. Can't blame them for it though, it was pretty funny and exactly how NPC logic in video games work.

Don't really give a fuck about the brotherhood storyline though. Everyone in it is unlikable and choosing to cast Michael Rapaport was...🤮. At least he died pretty immediately.

2 episodes deep and enjoying it.

Thankfully it does not take itself serious and we didn't see some modern day update to it to make some empowered female lead.

Sunk hundreds of hours into the games and IMO the show falls short, but I guess that’s a tall feat, would be very difficult to capture the richness of the games with all the factions and stuff.

To me right now the show is like 6.5/10. Last of us adaptation is way better tbh. Only good lead character is the ghoul, makes the show imo, while the other two are just meh.

I’ll continue to watch it but can’t really say I’m impressed by it, wish a better studio like Netflix or HBO picked it up, probably would of done better with the IP.

Not a single studio has a good batting average with adaptations except maybe Apple, but they only have like 2, and they are book adaptations so... Netflix is probably the worst choice you could possibly ask for.
