Disney just confirmed that they will start their own streaming service in 2019 with a subscription model.
In part of this process they will pull all their content off of Netflix.

Netflix $20 billion in debt and corporations pulling out

If there end up being a ton of streaming services that all have their own shows and movies, are any of them even worth using anymore?

Hard to tell, I don't think that people want to subscribe to three different providers just to watch exclusive content if they are in the mood for it.
Maybe the physical market will profit and content will be pirated more often.

I mean it's just going to be like the cable network, a sea filled with options.

Maybe it'll work out, maybe not, only time will tell.

Don't worry, everything is already pirated. There are no "Netflix only" shows.

I can tell you now though, I don't know anyone that would spend triple the money just to subscribe to 3 different streaming services.

Of course it is, but maybe it decreased over the last couple of years just because streaming services became so conveniant.

I know a couple of people who already own Prime and Netflix, hard to sell a third service though.

I love Disney. Love, love, love, Disney. Going at the end of the month for the fourth time in 3 or 4 years.

But I don't want any more streaming services...

I use Netflix primarily.
I have Amazon prime, but more for the shipping than the content.
I use my brother's Hulu account.

I buy most of the Disney/marvel movies anyways.

Not sure how this will play out. I have HBO GO from a friend, Subscribe to Amazon Prime, and have a low cable package for sports. If it weren't for sports, i'd probably cut cable all together and still might.

If each network breaks up into streaming, it'll be interesting. If its affordable (which it surely will not be), I would think it would be nice to TRULY build your own cable/stream package.

Example: I pay to watch/stream ONLY the following Channels/providers : ESPN, ABC, AMC, FX, Comedy Central, ETC. Only pay for those - not a basic "100" channel package with a bunch of shit you don't watch.

The problem with picking channels instead of packages is you usually pay a higher price. Like if you need 3-4-5 streaming services instead of 1-2 then it goes from 20-30 a month to 70-80 and then whats the point? Just get a cable package. Not to mention multiple streaming services is much worse for non-american customers because of all the licensing bullshit that services have to go through. A lot of them just say fuck it and ignore the rest of the world, drastically cutting their own potential profit.

This is why I put the statement If its affordable (which it surely will not be) in.
