I mean, if you compare it to shows like Supernatural, Once Upon a Time and other equally terrible supernatural themed network shows, I can see how you would consider it the "best show ever". If you compare it to anything that's even halfway decent, you're going to have a pretty fucking hard time arguing that it's anything more than an underwhelming disappointment. Even more-so to the poor saps who had the misfortune of reading the comics and then trying to watch this awful, awful show.
Bad acting, worse directing, god-awful plot, underwhelming visual effects, all while catering to wannabe edgy kids, with it's somewhat edgy premise because it's about THE DEVIL, but he's really the good guy, but he's the THE DEVIL, and he can and will do bad things, because it's edgy as fuckkkkkkkkk. It's the perfect recipe for succeeding on network television. When was the last time Fox had a show that wasn't complete garbage, or a show that didn't turn into complete garbage halfway through? With every single fucking one of these shows the plot gets worse and less coherent with each passing season. The acting stays as atrocious as it was in the pilot, or it gets worse, every single character has the emotional range of a fucking potato and you're wondering how in the fuck they even find 20 different directors that are all equally as untalented as the other.... like, you'd think just by fucking chance that one of the million people they go through would be able to elicit a legitimate or seemingly legitimate emotional reaction out of these terrible excuses for actors. Then it finally ends, and it's never because the show is finished, it's because ratings have plummeted so low, that they literally can't squeeze another dollar out of the shit-heap it's become. Then the ending, oh god, the ending. You almost feel sorry for the poor bastards that suffered through the last 2-3 seasons of an increasingly worsening show, only to receive one final fuck you from the show they invested so much time in, an ending that makes even the worst episode of the worst season look like it should be winning fucking awards compared to the pile of shit you just sat through.
Lol, just realized Bruckheimer executive produced. That doesn't mean he did or will do anything with/for the show, but him taking an interest in it at all, is almost a surefire guarantee that it'll be unwatchable. Lets take a look at some of the stunningly imaginative and truly visionary titles this genius will be working on in 2017. Try to contain your excitement people, it's hard to believe that one man could be so fucking talented.
