Since i have no knowledge in which direction they will take the show because i only follow the show itself, i'd say abraham: big intimidating guy that showed little to no fear. If i were him, i'd smack him down. Second guess would be daryl, but i've read multiple posts that he's one of the fan favourites which makes it a bit less likely. anyway bummer that we have to wait for more

He said he was gonna beat the living hell out of someone, but it's not guaranteed he killed that person.

Either way, I really have no idea who they went for.

My gut tells me either Michonne, Glen or Abraham. But im going with Abraham.

Also the list is missing Carl & Aaron.

Seems like Negan passes Aaron different than the others.. I wonder......

Hmm, you're right I did forget Aaron was there.

But I decided Rick and Carl didn't deserve a place in the poll. Negan's final line referring to both of them means they don't fit the bill.

some ppl have couple of strong points for why it would be daryll - ie, new show, and that this will be the spark to invigorate carol back to her fierce killing-spree-self (or what's currently left of her lol..)

i think it's glenn .. 2 near deaths throughout the season just teased his eventual fate out, and now he's toast rip



seriously though, why is no one talking about carol dying.. it's not like shes gonna be shot 3 times, bleeding profusely, no means of medical help etc.. in that scenario she would be toast too rip
im sure the 'kingdom' will be full of doctors though lol

For the sake of discussion, since I find it interesting, there are a couple ways to look at this question:

1) Which character does it make more sense for the show to kill off? The show is a story, for entertainment and profit, trying to be artistic.

2) Which character does it make more sense for Negan to kill, based on his goals and knowledge at the time?

We can only speculate on what he knew, but you gotta think for sure Dwight told him about the Daryl backstory. Maybe choosing Daryl appeases Dwight, or perhaps just the opposite and Dwight specifically wants Daryl alive. Negan surely knows that Maggie is pregnant and Glenn is the father. He knows Carl is Rick's son. He knows Abraham is "tough". He knows Eugene is "weak". Does he know anything about the other romantic connections?

Negan obviously wants to terrorize them, but is that his only goal? Does he want to assert his authority without crippling the group's ability to be useful to him? Daryl is a relative outsider, socially. Abraham, Glenn and Maggie are the ones whose deaths would have the greater emotional impact.

If I was in Negan's position, I'd probably kill Maggie or Rick. Those two would be most likely to break the group's spirit, but Rick's death would cripple their functionality. Seeing Maggie get beat to death would probably make his point stronger than anything else.

he needs them to fear him, not despise him. I think maggie's death would create more of the later. It's a big deal to a lot of the alexandrians for maggie to be pregnant and bring the next life into this world.

I think it will be glenn, as he seems to have his use almost exhausted imo.

eugene wouldnt be seen as weak either. he has turned into a badass, afterall he drove the rv to negan alone. and he is a crowd favourite.

tbh i really do think it is only glenn and darryl as the prime contenders
