Girlfriend started out with watching VD, it was okay other than the annoying love triangle dumb bullshit, very unappealing to me, but then I noticed the spin off The Originals, anyone else watch this? Very good show imo based off what it had started on VD. Elijah is a total badass; Klaus is pretty cool himself, the storyline is pretty good (aslong as you understand their history from VD).

What do you guys think?

VD - 5/10 ish...

The Originals - 8/10, maybe even a 9/10.

personally i dont care much for the originals, especially klaus's part. their introduction was the last season of VD i watched, so i'm biased by it. i just remember them being ultra powerful whom everyone fears. remember the first few eps with elijah? all these vampires (including catherine) are deathly afraid of him and obey his every word. he's adamant about keeping his promises. then suddenly in the originals they seem so weak in comparison. feels like a tom and jerry cartoon. someone slaps klaus around like a bitch, he yells at them, and they move on. one of the more recent eps had elijah fighting a witch brother. the fighting is laughable. he could have moved so quickly and killed him before he knew it, yet somehow he gets a beat down and has to blow up the building to kill him.

i quit watching VD the episode where elijah broke his word. still watching the originals.


on another note, cwtv is very good at casting hot actresses.

vd is hit and miss for episodes

originals is top notch
vds early seasons where the best although its gotten interesting as to where its going to go with the mother being back
