Can someone explain why this was such a great movie? Also, Gravity. I just can't see the appeal...

It wasn't all that great to be honest, certainly not bad but not fantastic either.

Mostly it was a cool theatre experience because of the sound effects and visuals but I don't see this aging well.

isn't the appeal obvious? Awesome visuals about space, the thing that's above everyone head all day everyday

The ambience is fantastic imo. The visuals, the soundtrack (often slient, gives you the feeling of emptyness in space and deserted planets), the way the camera captured the movement of the ship, etc... watching it was like going on a journey into the unknown; a very enjoyable experience.

I was so let down by this movie. Honestly, it sucked.

It didn't suck though did it? It didn't suck

I was let down too (who wouldn't be, it was hyped up as the second coming of Christ) but I didn't find it bad.

What didn't you like about it? I respect your opinion of course i'm just curious.

Gravity was so boring... Have not seen Interstellar yet.

Just saw this movie. Good acting but story was kinda meh. I almost fell asleep watching it. A lot of emotional scenes
