I'm gunna respectfully disagree

I managed to muster out a 4 / 10 for the first film mostly because I had a huge boner for Jlaw after her wicked performance in Winter's Bone, with any other lead i'd probably rate it a 2
Hunger games is like the big budget light version of Battle Royale

Hunger games is a story that could have been epic but it was targeted towards kids so it ended up being very lackluster.

Just one of those things. Like Percy Jackson movies.

First two were solid 8/10s from me.

Haven't seen the new one.

Their idiots the action really doesnt start till the end of the book saw this shit comming

That's the problem with making movies based on books, action starts to matter, whereas it doesn't in books, so you have either 2 hours of exposition and character development, or a butchered story

Edit: to me it's much closer to 1984 than battle Royale, the games themselves are an accessory to tell the story of a totalitarian state and its colonies, the games aren't the main point.

As previously mentioned, the story behind hunger games had potential, but the fact that it caters to sensitive 15 year old girls makes it less than enjoyable.

People fighting for their survival would look so much more gruesome and bloody. Everything is shot PG13, it's lame.
