If you loved the trailer and didn't like the movie - then you were Suker Punched.
The film was so complicated already and then butchered by the studio , that many people didn't understand it.
I think people many people expected it to be a teenage porn , and its actually a really shocking look at the way Men think.
So of course , alot of confusion.
Your probably to young to remember but the same thing happened to one of the Greatest Films ever - Blade Runner.
When it first came out , it was badly edited and 80% of the movie had this corny narration that was so distracting that many critics and viewers totally missed how great this movie was and it wasn't until 10+ years later - when the directors cut came out - that people realized how great this film was (Always had a cult following)
It's a great review, almost genius, however it's almost too good whereas it's unclear whether everything is true in a way that his review is exactly how Snyder wanted his film to be understood. It's almost as if the reviewer wrote the film himself.
I think the problem is, as deep as this review is, it is too complicated of an approach to think about when sitting in the theater.
Regardless, I still very much enjoyed the movie for my own taste, but I understand that it's not the greatest film as well.
