well she obviously should have known that it wasn't him when it was him that was at the crime scene

Unless we physically see his body buried in the next episode I believe he might still be alive. After Partridge falls out of the cabinet, Lisbon kneels down to check on him, then the door creeks open and as she stands back up, notice, her back is up against a wall. Effectively, no one can be behind her. When she gets "grabbed" , you see her fall backwards, as if someone grabbed her from behind. Which, isn't possible. Ergo, bret partridge , while on the ground, swept her legs from underneath her.
