Has anyone else seen this? Or, did it just fly under everyone's radar?

Holy fuck this movie was good! Highly entertained throughout. Never a moment wasted with "fluff" dialogue or filler scenes. I completely underestimated this film.

If you were like me, and figured this movie was gonna suck or just be "ok". I cannot recommend it enough. It literally has a cult following already, trying to push for a sequel. Really really underrated movie.

Karl Urban is a complete badass.

And, the best part... He never once takes off his helmet the entire fucking movie!!! Just like the comics.

Alright, I'm done. Need to add this to my collection ASAP.

I think there was a thread about it when it first came out back in September last year.

It's technically a flop because it didn't make it's budget back and there's no chance of a sequel because of this, but it was a hell of a movie despite it "bombing"
It was missing some of the satirical content from the comic, but it was still great. Wish it would've done better in the box office,
I think part of the problem was that the marketing wasn't that great.

The funny part is it did really well as a dvd/blu-ray, as in the number 1 selling dvd/blu-ray in the UK and the US for the first week, while also having the highest digital downloads, but those sales don't really save franchises.

Alas, we can only dream about what Judge Death and his Dark Judges would've been like on the big screen while they explored the origins of Dredd and Mega City.

And yes, Karl Urban is a badass, and underrated actor.

Well, I'm glad someone else here thought the same thing.

But, from what I am reading, there is a huge uproar from people in Hollywood that want to undertake a sequel. Same actors, same director, etc. Perhaps a different studio.

I think if the right people came along and realized that their only mistake was marketing, they can "risk" doing a sequel, with private investors perhaps. I know if they made a kickstarter it would hit it's mark in less than a week lol. :P

Liked it more than The Raid: Redemption actually (The film was based on the leaked script of Dredd)

I won't even watch that movie, due to the fact that they themselves have admitted to ONLY basing the idea on the leaked script and trying to capitalize on someones else's idea.

It's probably still better than 98% of post 2000 action films, worth to watch for the action, drama is bleh. It's not 1/1 either, clearly separate films and imo it's not stepping into Dredds toes. If you don't want to support, you can download.

One of my favorites from 2012.

The biggest flaw with the movie, in my opinion, are those lame scenes they put in simply to try and take advantage of the 3D format, which I think is stupid (both 3D in general and adding content specifically for 3D when it adds little to nothing to the movie). Those drug scenes weren't that cool and came off as overly lame for me.

The character was awesome, the music was great, the fact that they decided against a romantic sub-plot with a female co-star knocks it up several notches for me, etc., etc.

Urban is fucking awesome.

.

The 3D was one of the reasons why it bombed. They only relased it in 2D for select theatres. When theatres offer both, people flock to both. But when they only offer one, it really turns people off from the prospect. Plus the marketing was just terrible.
