It's the worst idea of 2013... Remake something that doesn't need a remake.. If they use even the slightest bit of CG in this film, I will shit in an envelope and mail it to them.

Hardly the worst idea. Raimi, Campbell and Robert G. Tapert made it, Raimi and Campbell have been wanting to remake it for years. They describe it as evil dead as they meant it to be.



Plus the film received an NC-17 rating, so a few things had to be dialed back to bring it down to rated R.

is there going to be a tree rape scene in this one also?

For the record: I judge this remake but I will see it when it comes out. No question.

What they wanted, and what they created are two completely different things at this point. Evil dead is a cult classic film because of the crude, brutal, and campy style that's personified by Campbell's over the top acting. A remake of a cult classic is pointless because it will never capture all of the devices that make a cult classic. I understand that capabilities in special effects have drastically improved over the years, and I see the profit potential in remaking any cult classic, however, it feels wrong.
