I am struggling to think of a movie that was a decent watch in the last 5 years let alone this year.
Many of them are so mediocre and dull with a good portion being utterly trash.

Let me think of one hang on....

Probably John Wick 4. Was entertaining enough but then again action flicks don't really have a high bar to begin with.

It wasnt bad at all, but wish they'd change or removed some things. Kill the i am grut character, didn't like it at all. probably a favor to a good looking sister to make his retard brother go in the movie.

The fights wasn't as realistic either, and big falls was too big, etc. First movie was really really good though, and i did like the second and third.. fourth, it was alright too. There will be a fifth btw.

Alsobut what was the "yeah" on repeat-line. It was a good line in the end of jw 3, but shouldnt been the first reply to "ready?" - yeaahhh. a simple "let's go" would have been much better.

It's a similar mistake they do in the later Jurassic park movies which the last was crap but even Jurassic world that was decent they copied stuff from the first two movies for cheap nostalgia(?) points...

Recommend the podcast with the director on here though, it was good.

On topic, haven't seen many movies from 23. Maybe two.. cocaine bear was alright, don't remember what the other was. Matrix4? I liked it.

Yeah it's a fun movie, but it's also very repetitive and like 24/7 action.
Also yeah John Wick was literally a superhero. I can't remember if the last ones were like this as well, but he took insane falls and then just gets up like it's nothing!

Red Sparrow (2017)

Checked this movie out maybe couple months ago and was blown away, one of the better movies I've seen in recent memory for character development/plot, cinematography, it's all on point and rather visceral

I didn't say it was amazing chill. I just said it was entertaining enough to watch. Do tell why it's so bad? Also post a good movie that you think is better this year.

Blackberry, Beau is Afraid, Are you there God? It's me Margaret, Infinity Pool are all ones I enjoyed more.

Not that it's bad, but it's repetitive and also like I said he was basically a superhero in the latest one.

Haven't really watched any 2023 movies other than Fast X, which I was disappointed within the first 10 minutes ... come on, Han was alive... wtf is up with that, are they doing another movie to explain why he wasn't killed in Tokyo after his car blew up with him inside of it... note that this was revealed in two of the Fast n Furious movies.

As for John Wick and Matrix Sequels ... those are pretty much the top five for "Sequels" to keep you entertained, I mean "Jaws Sequels" weren't great, now you can do the Horror Sequels of "Nightmare on Elm St", "Halloween" and all that, but the sequels were "MEH".

Hey, 2023 is only halfway done, so you may not even see a great 2023 movie that is "Good this Year" since the year is NOT OVER.
