It's been a while since I've owned an xbox. It is cross-progression, but not simultaneous cross-play IIRC.

no it is not cross-progression unlike D2R, at least not for Nintendo switch. you'll need to start all over on the switch, sad days.

Correct. If you by release date, it's easy to remember because...

Released 2012, Diablo III: Cross-Platform
Released 2021, Diablo II: Resurrected: Cross-Progression
Released 2023, Diablo IV: Cross-Play

thats right. blizz has supported more and more over the years, but they aren't going back and adding in any kind of infrastructure to past games like D3. for this reason, it is hard to get into D3 on the switch, from losing paragon/characters/everything, it doesn't feel very motivating to play this way.

Diablo III has very low requirements because it game out in 2012. You'd get 6 or 7 hours of game play on a Steam Deck.
