Budget: $1000 CDN

More specific use (what games, what programs): Runescape, D2R, Lost Ark, and hopefully Ashes of Creation (Soon™️)

Planned time until purchase: Cyber Monday

Do you need an Operating System?: I guess I will I won't be using my old HDD

Do you have any specific preferred components?: I'm unsure what this means sorry.

Do you need a sound or wireless card?: I'm unsure I doubt it?

Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Won't be overclocking I know nothing about it.

Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: I guess I will need a monitor as mine are terrible. But I got decent keyboard and mouse that I enjoy.

Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Saskatchewan Canada.

I already own a 1660Ti, my computer now is a HP Pavilion HPE9 it's just.... It's time to be retired. I kinda priced this out so far in parts picker

Edit/ for monitors, I can wait a bit and slowly aquire them as I find good sales. I know monitor is a big upgrade but I can make due until I either have a savings aquired or I find a sick deal

Are you planning on reusing your 1660Ti? What's your current processor (cpu)?

If your target is $1000.00 cad, the 1660Ti is a great budget-performance GPU and can build around that to save costs.

Yeah I'll definitely reuse it.
Ok.... My cpu.... Hold back your LOLs. My comp runs a i5 3770........

This is what I have come up with. I was gonna go 5600x but apparently it's only a 3% performance boost for 20$? So I won't notice that.

What's the difference between 5600 vs 5600g?

Also, I'll upgrade to 5700(x) depending how the sales go on cyber monday

Where else can I upgrade for cheap? And of be interchangable?

I'm impressed by your longevity with that processor.

I'd recommend an i5 12400F, it's a massive upgrade and budget friendly ~ also pairs really well with your current GPU which is no slouch.

Can probably get a CPU+Mobo deal on Black Friday coming up. I see Memory Express has discounted CPU's big time right now, I imagine that trend will continue as we approach sale-season. If your PSU is 450W+ you're good to go, rest of components you picked look solid

You mean the PSU on my current build? I'll get my model number it's a HP Pavilion HPE9. If I am not mistaken.

I think it's a 650w PSU. I can simply reuse it, or will a new one be more energy efficient and less prone to overloading?

Oh man you have no idea the shambles this PC is in lol half my ram lanes are friend so I'm using my second channels. My original GPU in here looks like it came from a box of lucky charms.

This old girl has really got my moneys worth but the fact it takes 20 seconds to load JSP, or it crashes if I am playing d2r and load JSP.... Time for an upgrade lol.

So Intel over amd why exactly? I truthfulky don't know the difference.

I guess ill have to get a different MoBo if I go with Intel won't I?

Ahhhhh, but the i5 12400F, can pair with ddr5 ram, where the socket for 5600 the am4 is strictly ddr4.

So if I went i5, the possibility to upgrade in the future without necessarily having to get a new cpu?

I would swap out the AMD Mobo for an Intel Mobo (DDR4, not DDR5) and go with an i5 12400F personally, cost will be about the same as what you have here. DDR5 is so expensive for the smallest performance boost, not worth it imo.

You wont need anything higher than a 650W psu for a GTX 1660 Ti and an i5 12400F (Could even get away with a 500W, but go a bit above and beyond)
