make sure you are not buying from a third party through newegg. I accidentally bought something from the "newegg marketplace" and it turned out to be a complete scam.
after contacting newegg I decided to do some googling and it turns out a lot of people are dealing with the exact same problem as me. They send a fake tracking number and don't respond to
refund requests sent by newegg representatives and then you have to settle it yourself through your bank, paypal, etc. and pray they approve the refund..

I'm surprised something so common is being allowed on newegg to be honest, and even more surprised how hands off they are.

Ouch, at least you learned you lesson. I've had similar issues with third party sellers on Walmart etc so I try to stay away as much as possible

I know how you feel, I bought harry potter Pillow cases for my wife in october for her birthday in November, and because this weird out of country place was closed for * 3 week holiday * there was delayed shipping...
Expected to gift it for Christmas instead. Finally said delivered 4 days after Christmas.... arrived at somewhere in texas , and i live in wisconsin... ( Item was returned to seller due to abandoned building )

at least newegg is nice enough to refund.
