Firstly, Thanks for taking the time to come to this post.

I am looking to upgrade my computer and I guess building my own, or atleast part selecting myself instead of going with a pre-build.
currently I have the HP Pavilion HPE h9-1187 Phoenix Desktop PC, I bought brand new I believe in 2011? So, needless to say its out of date and time to upgrade.

The only thing I have ever done, is get a new GPU, currently running MSI's 1660ti.

I'm sure most are familiar that people coming here are way out of their comfort zones, so I am needing help before I go and build a monster like Frankenstein.

I typically have liked Intels stuff, but I have no issues going to AMD, budget would be around 750-1k keeping in mind I already have the GPU, cheaper of course better.

Will be used for gaming!
