Building a p/c for video editing/gaming
I mainly play dota 2 and editing software such as adobe premiere for 4k video editing.
wanting to spend no more than $3k usd (without monitor/keyboard/mouse/shipping)
Ill be purchasing bits and pieces throughout my next 2 paycheques

I would like to have a motherboard that supports ddr5
the rest of the parts i don't mind changing up.
i noticed at the bottom it says i may need a separate mount for
the cooling system to attach to the z690 motherboard, what do i exactly have to do for that?
and is that with all cooling systems that ill need to do this for?

thx for any input/guidance

I'll chime in here. I'm averse to DDR5 until it starts getting impressive speeds for a good price, but I don't think you came here to be convinced not to get it.

Your build looks fantastic and will do everything you want it to. That case is a dream to build in and your parts match well with your use-case.

Regarding your cooler, I would contact Lian Li and inquire. If it's a different cooler mount, your AIO likely won't have a bracket but in my experience since manufacturers want to be associated with the latest and greatest they'll probably ship you a bracket if necessary. I know Noctua does and I've come to expect greatness from Lian Li.

If you're separating purchases, line up your GPU buy first, it leads to less disappointment as it's the hardest part to get

Thank you! I feel the same way but i also am very lazy to have to reinstall everything and then buy a new motherboard when ddr5 is better established
i feel i will actually save money in the end by not having to rebuy a new motherboard + more ram.
Thanks i will try emailing Lian Li this case is expensive but its so aesthetically pleasing. Whats your input on having the dual fan as opposed to the tri fan on the gfx card?
i was thinking about dual so its a little less noisy

If you manage to get that specific card I can attest to that not being a concern. I had a 3060ti ASUS TUF card and maxed out fan speed for testing every now and then, still pretty quiet. If noise is your only concern, stick with trip fan as you'll be putting the 3080ti to work so you'll want it well cooled. I doubt it will run on max fan speed anyways in that case, just plan your airflow well and it has lots of room to breathe.

I'm not convinced you'll save money in the long run since you're spending so much on MOBO+RAM. It's hard to say, but you could get DDR4 and compatible MOBO for significantly less and it will last you 4-5 years at which point this build still has resale value and DDR5 is more efficient. Again, not trying to convince you as this is definitely an amazing build. If you want to trim costs quickly, that's where you do it. If you can stretch your budget, stick with the ddr5
