Hi Apex!

So if you’re using the 17inch as your main gaming monitor than it is by far the better choice, however if you are using a external monitor than there are a lot better price vs spec laptops that are 15inch and will serve better for you.

If you need help finding one please reach out, I’ve been scoping a few out.

I ended up taking the 17 inches because I plan to use it for work/travel gaming.

I think it should be sufficient for the reporting I do.

It should be, it's a nice machine for the right use-case. I have the 15 inch model. I believe the x17 is actually a slightly up-market SKU than the m15, not just a bigger size. a bigger machine will generally have better cooling than an equivalent smaller machine, of course a better designed (in this case in particular read: not a thin and light) 15 inch will be cooler by a bit. these things are designed to turbo boost until it hits 100C so make sure you adjust that if you want it to run cooler. depends on the reporting that you're doing but I imagine you can use the TCC offset feature that I believe is in the x17's BIOS to limit the max temp to something like 90C instead, which will basically just have it OC less. there are better machines for the money, but on a sale it's less of an issue, especially if you're actually after a thin and light model. still though, there's usually a better option for the price, in my case I wanted the mobility if i'm away from my workstation.
