I don't really have it in my budget to buy new, especially with GPU prices these days. Wondering if my PC is worth upgrading?

Mainly just to run D2R smoother, quicker load screens etc.

Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
MOBO: MSI B250M Gaming Pro (MS-7A65)
8GB DDR4 RAM
240GB SATA SSD
1TB HDD

My thoughts were to upgrade SSD to a newer pcie one, but I'm not sure my mobo is compatible. Also thinking of upgrading to 16GB RAM.

Worth it, or go new and keep my existing GPU? Would these two upgrades give me noticeable performance upgrades?

Would be helpful to know your budget but my initial thoughts are keep your build. I'll assume PC money is tight at the moment.

It looks like your mobo has room for a gen 3 M2 SSD. I would start here as storage has gotten cheaper since this PC was built and you can probably get enough to store some games directly on the SSD (500gb would be a good start but again, depends on budget). Make sure when you install it, there's nothing plugged into your SATA1 header as the M2 shares a slot with it. You can move old drives to sata 2 and 3

Next I'd bump the RAM up to 16gb. Most software is greedier on RAM and if you're running anything in the background with d2r, (chrome, music, discord) you'll probably appreciate the extra RAM

Lastly, the GPU could definitely use a bump. I would probably bring it up to a used 1660ti if you can spring for it. That said, the storage and memory would likely be more appreciated if money is tight. Probably not worth it to bump into the a 2060 as they're still overpriced. I just sold a 2060s for $800cdn used and it was purchased by my cousin for $550 last year when it was already a year old.

Feel free to PM or quote me if you have any questions, also if you add a specific budget I might modify my opinion

Great insights, thanks! Is a gen4 SSD an option for my mobo? They are supposedly stupidly fast even compared to gen 3, and D2R loading screens are my biggest hurdle. I see some streamers with like 1-2sec loading screens, which I assume is thanks to more RAM and a gen 4 SSD?

Budget is fairly tight, probably like $500 CDN so I should be able to get some RAM and an SSD for that
