Do you think its worth waiting to build a computer around it
or build one anyways because it may take years other computer parts
to be compatible with ddr5? or at least buying a z690 motherboard so i can upgrade the other parts as they come out?

I think I got brain cancer from reading your post. See below and let me know if it captures your question accurately.

I'm not sure what you've seen or read to make you think other parts are incompatible with DDR5. I don't understand where you're coming with this. If you changed "computer parts" to "programs and apps", then I can see it making more sense. But I don't know what you're trying to say.

From what i've briefly read
computer parts currently are not compatible or cannot support the capabilities of ddr5 ram (from what i remember i read ddr4 ram slot is not able to fit ddr5)
and that the z690 motherboard will be compatible with supporting it.

So i want to know if its worth waiting for computer parts to support/be compatible or if it will take years for
these parts to be able to support it to come out and i should just build a pc around ddr4

So I'm pretty sure you can use Google and read more on it, and better understand it.

You're right in that DDR4 doesn't fit into DDR5 slot and vice versa. However, you should have also read that Z690 motherboards can come with DDR4 or DDR5. The specs will state which RAM will fit.

As an example, see links below.
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z690-AORUS-ELITE-AX-DDR4-rev-10#kf
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z690-AORUS-ELITE-AX-rev-1x#kf

I haven't seen a motherboard that can fit both. Typically an ATX size motherboard has four slots, and maybe it's physically possible to do two DDR4 and two DDR5, but I haven't seen this. I don't know if it's physically not possible or technically we're not there.

ddr4 will be drastically cheaper for the next year or so (and their respective motherboards), i'd just go ddr4 if you want a pc before the end of the 2022

if you went ddr4 -> ddr5 you'd need a new cpu and motherboard, yes (and ram)

if u got a gen 12 cpu already u can still get z690 mobo with a ddr4 compatible and if you want to upgrade to ddr5 in a couple of years you can just upgrade mobo with ddr5 compatibility and new dd5 memory

kind of rude of Kaneki to not address Xet's brain cancer.

edit: just build a DDR4 machine if you need a machine now
