Budget: Under $2000 USD
More specific use (what games, what programs): New World, Hell Let Loose @ 1080p max settings
Planned time until purchase: ~1-month?
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: Nvidia GPU (because I just bought a 1080p 144hz LG g-sync gaming monitor)
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Wireless card
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock cooling for now, maybe OC in the future
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Nope
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs) 31548

I'm looking for max performance 1080p gaming under $2k.

My current PC:
i5 6500, locked (no OC), stock cooler
Asus B150M mobo
GTX 1660 ti
16gb ram @ 2133mhz
EVGA supernova 550 gold+ psu
cheap nzxt case
couple of samsung evo ssd's
I think my i5 6500 is a little slow for the modern title games. I feel like the 1660 ti is probably fine for 1080p but I plan on giving my current PC to my oldest son so I want to build a whole new rig for myself. Any help would be appreciated. Looks like the GPU market is awful right now!

Yes, the GPU supply and prices are not the best. I'd focus on getting a GPU first and see how much of your budget is left.

Since you're doing 1080p, the 3060 to 3070 GPUs fit well. These are the lower/entry models in the current generation. Try to get any of those.

I did some shopping around. I like the idea of the pre-built cyberpower pc but the reviews are mixed. I also don’t like the idea of a random psu. The nzxt BLD types look good. About $2k for a i5 11600k, kraken x63 water cooler, h510 case, rtx 3070, seasonic 850w psu, decent wifi mobo, 16gb 32000mhz t-force ram, and m2 ssd. They have a warranty too. I think with the cost of gpu’s, its actually cheaper to buy a prebuilt!? Wild times we live in
