Here's what we're tinkering with now. He already has a display, keyboard/mouse, and the case that's listed in the link below.

What do you guys think?

(I know it says the aio doesn't fit but I think that's a lie, it's a full size tower.. If not the case could be modified to make it fit.)

Get a better case, look up reviews on them.. I like Fractal cases but there's a lot out there.
Get an 850w Gold PSU instead of that, it's actually better in this case not just cheaper.

Sli is indeed dead, though this build only uses 1 gpu.

32 gb could work.

the estimated power consumption is 695 as is so probably 650 isn't enough.

What's wrong with his case?

How is an 850 superior?

Haha he's not buying the case now, he's had it from a previous build.

That being said, you'd cut back on the psu and just get a more modern case?

That case isn’t only ugly - it’s trash.

All right all right I've switched it up.

Less memory, lower watt psu, better case: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jFNGW3

Is there a PSU calculator with the newest Intel 12th gen CPU? Because all the testing I've seen show that they use a lot of power just to hit that turbo max speed and maintain that.

Generally a case's quality is judged on it's airflow and build quality (noise, quality of materials, thoughtful design such a catering to different needs with the least compromise), and most importantly it has to have enough LEDs to outshine the sun /s. I didn't know he already had the case, but if he's spending this much money might as well get something better as it'll likely be more than just aesthetics. Look for cases with mesh + dust protection, such as the Fractal Meshify C, there's other cases just as good though this is just my preference). You don't want a 1200W PSU because there's actually an efficiency metric to keep in mind here, using to little or too much of your PSU's capacity is not ideal. You could go with a 650w like urbanshaft mentioned, that could be considered the most efficient pick for your dollar, but I think the difference in price between that and a 750w/850w is generally worth the noise/heat/longevity benefits, but if you had a different budget I would care less about that.
