Never built one before… don’t have a pc right now but I want to get one for some upcoming games such as new world, d4, and others.

Just looking for some recommended builds or information to help me choose… been looking at pc part picker but I need help lol…

Would appreciate all help and tips! Thanks

first decide where you want your image quality and how many frames you want it to be at, vr/4k gaming/ 1440p gaming/1080p gaming/200fps/120fps/60fps/30fps. Then you get the components that can hit those marks you want.

What would u recommend? Is 1080p outdated?

And tbh I’m not sure what is considered great… how’s 120fps?

I’d shoot for 1440p instead of 1080p …. It’s absolutely worth it.

2k budget you should aim for something that can do 1440p or 4k. 1080p is fine but if your going to build a new computer with 2000$ it should be running games at 1440p or 4k the gaming world is moving towards 4k gaming so that is what you should aim for. figure out your motherboard processor and graphics card first. rtx 30 series graphics card is what you will want or an amd 6000 series card but they are much harder to get. expect to pay around 700-1000$ for a graphics card. 150-200$ for motherboard. 300-500$ for processor. a cheap route if you decide to go intel is the older 9th gen i5 9600k processor you can get them for 200$ its a 6 core 3.6ghz - 4.7ghz u can over clock to 5.0ghz match it with a z390 motherboard for about 150$ only drawback is that it is pcie 3.0 which doesnt really make a difference right now. i have an i5 9600k + asus prime z390 + evga rtx 3070 system runs 4k and 1440p amazing, has ray tracing and dlss. i have since upgraded it to an rtx 3080 still amazing.

GPUs are expensive and rather difficult to buy due to high demand and low supply. I imagine with a $2000 USD budget, you'd probably want to go for a NVidia FE 3060 Ti or FE 3070. I think their MSRP is $500 or less. EVGA also has some 3060 or 3060 Ti that are less than $500.

As for your parts search for the desktop, below are some recommendations.

AMD Ryzen 5800X - ~$400 USD
B550 or X570 motherboard - between $150 to $400 USD
Noctua NH-D15 - ~$110 USD
Crucial Ballistix 16GB at 3600MHz C16 - ~$100 USD
Western Digital Blue SN550 1TB - ~$100 USD
750W Gold rating PSU - ~$100 USD

I'm not sure if you need a monitor or not, but at the minimum, go for a 27" IPS monitor with QHD/1440p resolution. But depending on which motherboard you pick, maybe you need to increase your budget a bit more to include a monitor.

X570 is generally the more expensive motherboard compared to B550.
