Topic Title:Need a monitor
Description: Gaming, Photoshop/CAD, Video Editing, etc. and Budget
Budget: $500 obo
More specific use (what games, what programs): Ultrawide Curved 1440p 32-34"
Planned time until purchase: Now or whenever
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Tustin, CA Microcenter or Internet purchase

Originally wanted a Samsung G9 but they are too expensive. The G5 curved 1000r ultrawide seems to fit my budget but the reviews do not look so great.
Any suggestions?

If it’s NOT for gaming. Get a Dell ultra wide ultra sharp.

I bought a G9 or G7 one night on a whim in store at Micro Center, it looked bad ass for like $900. Got home, read reviews, and saw how steep the curve was and returned it without even opening it. It doesn’t have the same curvature as normal curved monitors

These are basically the most popular monitors on earth right now

The g9 is on another level, $2500 monitor. Although I'm happy with the G5 ultrawide, It is just perfect for my needs. Even though it's more expensive than other ultrawide 34's. Im happy with my choice.

Yeah, but if you look at the curvature, it’s not ideal for FPS or other games where you turn quickly. The screen literally warps. I bought the $800 g7 upon looking back now. I’m sure it’s nice, but it’s huge and not what I needed. MicroCenter closed in 5 minutes, bought it on a whim, glad I returned it a week later lol.

Glad you like it OP! I never opened it so I never saw what it looked like in person. I’m an LED IPS panel fan.
