well i recently bought a benq Zowie xl2411p eSports monitor, even tho its made in 2015 it's pretty common buy right now

The monitor is awesome the response time is the fastest thing i've ever tested. It's TN panel (fastest).

But the problem is the brightness or the backlighting, i tried to fix it reducing bright and contrast swapping gamma and meny other things on the monitor's control panel, downloaded the drivers aswell, it says Brightness is 350 mits which seems to be a lot. not like my eyes hurt but its annoying after some time on pc

Note : tryed to configurate it for a while now, 20% bright to 60% etc.

I wonder if some of you had similar problem with these ''gaming motinors'' and which idea you could give to me.

Basically i want this same monitor or closer response time but without this backlighting (too much), im still in time to return it obviously just wanna know your experience and hopefully this is the right place to ask such thing (first time i post there).

How you can help ? Basically saying you had same problem or similar and what you did to fix it, which monitor you use / used etc.

thanks

The problem is the light is annoying, wanna know a monitor model that doesn't happen

someone said this about it:
"After fiddling around in the Nvidia control panel, I got the colors to my liking (running sRGB mode in the monitor's settings, gamma at 0.75 and digital vibrancy at 75% in the Nvidia control panel). The TN panel is pretty decent at reproducing colors now, and the 144 Hz refresh rate makes everything so much more responsive and smooth. Definitely recommended as an entry-level 1080p/144Hz gaming monitor."

I never tried this yet ^

other than that just try it out, see how you feel after a while and try a bunch of different settings. I feel like this monitor is mainly having gaming in mind, such as it lets you see better to where your opponents are, etc so it doesn't have as much of a shadowing/less vision. but in time you'll probably see that it does have good enough darks just takes getting used to and your games will look good again and youtube, etc.

most people will probably come and say just return it and get a asus tuf monitor with ips but it's about your personal preference. I'd keep it if u dont care about ips

I don't have that monitor but I do have something older, XL2420Z. This was just before they started their Zowie product line.

If you're going to change the settings on the NVidia Control Panel --> adjust desktop color settings, then make sure on your monitor, you have Menu --> Picture --> Color Temperature --> Normal checked. You can also change to User Mode checked for better color control.

In my case, I have it set as User Mode and below are my values thru the monitor settings, not NVidia settings. Not sure if my settings will help you at all.

R = 90
G = 90
B = 90
Brightness = 70
Contrast = 50
Gamma = 3
Sharpness = 3

the settings might help, but I have 2 different benq's and their both very different. the one he is talking about has a noticeable difference in contrast. like my spair benq 75hz that i use as a 2nd monitor has better blacks than the main 144hz one I use.
