Shortage will last at least until mid 2022.
Working in the PC sector, and all our IC suppliers have the same view due to wafer shortages.

You can still get CPUs, but GPUs would cost you a lot.

im in the same boat except i built my pc anyway :bonk:

i did find one site kwest.com
they have 20 series cards in the $450-600 range
3060 ti at $900...
all thats high but not nearly as bad as most
if u think about it 2070 came out in 2018 for $600
but yea thats justification
my brother says it may get better in june-july (new fiscal quarter)
but if not im gonna buy something soon
i dont see why they would lower prices, currently resellers (even legit ones) are making all the money

the current perception is that scalpers using "bot groups" are buying everything cornering market no matter what the supply is
im skeptical, i think its just PC culture protecting the guilty, the only groups that organized are Chinese daigos...
we just watched them do this over the past year with masks hand sani even baby formula

For the 20 series card you have mentioned, are they brand new? If yes, then I think the prices are great due to the current situation.
Maybe pick them up as they are still viable.

i still want to hold out a bit longer, $600 should easily still get a 3060 ti somehow from somewhere, someday

That would be pretty long from now, unless you were fortunate enough to catch an incoming shipment at a retail store.
If the need is not urgent yet, then yeah maybe continue using your current setup.

From now --> fab in full production --> GPU makers get the chips, it'll be at least 2H 2024.
