Okay.. this is not my first PC build, but it's my first time i've had issues with installing windows.


Here is what is happening.. after selecting install windows from USB, the pc downloads the files and installs windows to the selected drive. It then restarts and goes to the windows screen with the blue windows and the spinning dots. The dots spins and refresh the screen a few times and eventually freeze.

PC:
MOBO: msi z270-a pro (ON THE LATEST BIOS)
CPU: i5-7400
GPU:Radeon RX 580 (i tried 2 different gpus)
drive: samsung SSD (i also tried a nvme and a HDD)
ram: viper 3000mz (tried like 3 different sets of ram)
PSU: name brand 500w (tried 2 different PSU)

I am able to install linux and the pc runs fine with Linux.

any ideas?

not sure but sounds like there is corrupted file in that USB. Try put win10 files again in that USB or try another USB with it.

Thank you. I tried to reload the usb 3 times. I will try another usb and see if I get the same result

That worked. This was really frustrating.

I tried reinstalling windows boot drive twice on the old usb and it still didn't work. I used that usb a lot on the past to install windows... Who knows.

At least it wasn't my mobo or cpu.
