Hey reader - I used to build a lot of PCs back in the day but not as much recently.

I have a work office equipment allocation I did not spend this year so I wanted to quickly use it before I lose it and upgrade my core PC components. BOY have things gotten more expensive.

Can anyone please validate I bought 4 things that made sense (rushed due to cyber monday).

I got the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (replacing my AMD FX-8350)

I got the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus MOBO (replacing my aftermarket ATX mobo)

I got 2x16GB DDR4 3200 GSkill Ripjaws V Series (replacing my aftermarket 32gb DDR3)

And I got a WD Blue SN550 m.2 2280 1tb (replacing my 250gb Samsung Evo (840 or 860) SSD)

I will keep my R9 200 Series GPU and the rest of my components (Case, CPU cooler, PSU, DVD, Fan Controller, old 1TB HD, and soon to be old 250GB SSD)

Does anyone see any issues with my upgrades or have I done an ok job?

Thanks in advance for the reply!!

Thanks for your ambiguous comment, I am simply seeking validation that the 4 components I purchased are compatible with each other and that I did not make any stupid buys.

Ryzen 7 5800X was out of my price range by far

Well then just the ram was stupid.
If your gaming and you didn't opt for a new gpu that was also stupid.

I'm sorry you can't extrapolate either.

It is just for work, only game I play regularly is free cell and minesweeper, and BFBC2 and D3.

Why you seem so sad dawg? I am just glad I remembered my password for this forum to ask the question :)

No one's sad.. You made assumptions so I corrected you.
Additionally you failed to provide required info.

The CPU is good. 5800x is out of stock anyways.

Mobo could be a bit cheaper.

RAM is fine. It could be better but you won't see any big real life performance difference.

It's kind of silly you did not upgrade your GPU. Gpu + cpu is most important when gaming. What resolution are you aiming for? Without resolution + desired framerate nobody can give you advice.

It is not for gaming, mainly for work and some photo editing.

I used to run a business building custom computers, but the new chipset is unfamiliar to me and I am new to DDR4 RAM and m.2 SSD.

I was really concerned with the compatibility of the parts - that the 4 of them will work together. I know my GPU will be compatible and will work fine for my purposes as long as these 4 work together.

I ordered it fast on cyber monday.
