Budget: $800 for the remaining parts needed

Any special requests or useful things to tell us?
Don't care much for flashy RGB / LED parts if it only means spending more $$$.
I care more about performance. No one is going to see this PC except me.

Parts I already have / will have this week:
i9-9900K
RTX 3070
1440p 144hz monitor

Parts still needed:
Tower Case
Mobo
CPU Cooler
PSU
RAM (prefer 16GB)
SSD (prefer 1TB)

Colors for the build/computer case? Prefer white. Black second.
Wired internet. Will not overclock.
Located in NY and will travel to Microcenter for parts if necessary.

For what reason? From what I understand Ryzen > Intel for everything EXCEPT gaming.

I won't be streaming or video editing. If so then Intel would be the better choice for me. I also got it for a great price.

as if Secksii's post wasn't already vague enough, here you are chiming in with an even more useless post.

"lul cause 2020"

Yeah, great reasoning. Can't argue with that logic...

Well for one, you're not overclocking as I bolded.
Two, you're playing your games at 1440p, which means the difference btwn a ryzen and 9900k is very minimal in gaming. We are talking like 1 to 5fps.
Third, 9900k is an older chip. If you're trying to waste money, you might as well at least go for the best for gaming chip as of now and get the 10900. Otherwise, you should really wait for the new ryzen to release next week. The current ryzens like the 3900x/xt are neck to neck with the 9900k, so it's safe to assume that their new ryzen CPU will perform better than the older chip like 9900k.

If there was a significant difference in gaming, sure why not, but that isn't the case here. It really doesn't matter if you're not going to be streaming or video editing, the benefit will still be there overtime as an option. It's like saying you want to limit yourself to a 1tb Samsung ssd instead of 2tb crucial ssd because you don't need the extra space and Samsung ssd is technically the "faster" ssd with very minimal difference in speed irl.

If you're still dead set on building your pc around a 2018 CPU chip, then by all means lmk since its your money

Thank you for elaborating. It's not so much me being stubborn building my PC around an old chip, but more so staying within my budget.

While I do understand the 10900k is the better card, I think the price is $500 for that right now. I pretty much got the 9900k for $150.

new ryzen is strictly better than intel for single threaded performance
so they're king in gaming now

the 5600x beats every intel offering in single threaded, it's just a matter of how many cores you want for multithreaded
even at 6c12t it beats the 3700x in multithreaded lol

hmm ok. I can still sell my 9900k for the new Ryzen if necessary.

If anyone can help me with the last parts I need it would be appreciated.
