Can someone help me spec out a computer for compatibility issues? It's been 15 years since I built my last one and didn't want to go into it blindly.

PM me or post as I'd love to have a discussion. I need to be able to access my current harddrive as well as it has sensitive data and my videocard/motherboard/CPU is not working properly(it's the video card im 90% sure).

THANKS SO MUCH JSP!

Spend the extra 50$, if work means video editing or modeling then get a 3700 cpu for the extra 100$.
Download windows 10 creation tool from micro$hits website. Get a windows 10 64bit pro edition license
key from ebay for about 3$.

As for data recovery I suggest the easiest way without buying more shit is to build this new rig and pop
the SSD in, it should boot and you'll be able to grab data, but this implie syou have a medium to transfer
it to, if not buy one of these...

I have a power supply from my old computer. Not sure If i can reuse it. I also have 8gb of DDR3 ram(it could be ddr2) guess i'll toss it.

How do i know if the power supply can be used. It was a really good one.

Take a pic of the details on it or let use know its exact model.

Here is a link to the current Harddrive i'm using. It's old and not an SSD. Is this compatible with the motherboard you selected? I'm gonna get a new power supply.

As long as I can boot from this harddrive it should all work out!

I would also like to upgrade the CPU, could you be kind enough to edit so I don't order the wrong one.

It is indeed the 3700x and I strongly suggest you get the ssd.
You have no idea how much faster it is till you try it.
