I am building a whole new pc, including hdd and sdd. I currently don't have an ssd but I plan on using the new one for windows and other often used programs. I havnt upgraded to win 10 yet because of fear current pc is going to not run for shit if i do. How do i go about upgrading and getting win10 onto that ssd i am getting and then about xfring all my files? Do i need to dl win to my current hd and then hook that up to my new pc to xfr that and other files over? That's all i came up with but i was seeing if there was an easier way.

Thank you sirs

ps - my new build showing up piece by piece is fun but im so ready to build this thing...

With a new computer build, it's best to do a clean install of Windows 10. Make it so the SSD is the only drive hooked to your comp, when you install Windows 10.

Use the media creation tool, here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 ...just follow the directions and create Win 10 installation media on a USB stick.
Get a product key from ebay for Windows 1o... it's like $3-5 dollars.

Windows 10 will supply most of the drivers you need, but if it misses one or two, you can find them on the motherboard DVD or at the motherboard's website.
Same for the vid card. It should come with a driver DVD as well. If not, you can find them at either AMD's or Nvidia's website.

After you've installed Windows 10 on the SSD, "then" you can hook up your old drive and grab w/e files you want.

As for games and various programs you have on your old drive, it's best to reinstall them on the SSD as well.
