Hello guys,

I've always had problems when it comes to ram. If I have a 8gig ram at 2666 right now and I buy a 16 gig at the same speed. Can I put both inside my computer?

Could be conflicts, could work fine assuming same timings/voltage as well.

Best thing would be to buy the SAME matched ram kit.

or just buy new complete kit and ditch the 8gb kit
why bother with that old slow kit

When amount/value ram trumps speed? Not many game titles benefit from ram speeds on Intel based systems.

Ultimately just replacing the ram is the overall better solution.

not many games benefit with more than 16gb also so its just like the speed thing

i'd rather have faster ram 3600 even cas18 16gb ram then 24gb of 2666

Just google your mobo model and look at specs.

Dual channel memory architecture
Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
Supports up to PC4-21300 (DDR4 2666)
Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
NOTE: 32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
Supports up to 32 GB (with two 16 GB modules) and 16 GB (with two 8 GB modules) on 64-bit computers
NOTE: Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

im on 64 so i can go up to 32 gig? at 2666
