I typically have a couple of large projects loaded up across multiple IDE's, photoshop, and a couple of web browsers with ~20 tabs.
Don't really play too many games ( D2, LoL, CS:GO, PUBG ), however I'll likely expand what games I do play in the near future though.
Budget: $1,500-$3,000 (USD)
Planned time until purchase: ASAP
Do you have any specific preferred components?: 512GB+ SSD // NVIDIA Graphics

Zip code/Location: Detroit, Michigan
Additional information that may help us assist you: I'll be using this laptop inside an office environment, which means I need something that's smaller, more presentable, and doesn't give off the vibe that I play video games in my spare time.
I did some browsing and found the MSI Creator 17, which comes in a few different models, however I believe this one (
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16834155375 ) is the cheapest that offers the 4K/UHD mini-led display.
The backlit keyboard looks to be a joke, as it appears to only be white, visible from around the edges of each key, and does not actually light up the letters on the face, which looks cheap in my opinion.
The display has me interested for the 4K U/HD, brightness, and color accuracy, however I'm hearing a lot about high refresh rate displays verses 60hz, which has me wondering if I would be losing out on anything with animations, or the newer games.
Overall, I'm just interested in figuring out if that model of the MSI Creator 17 is worth the $2,999 price tag, and how long the technology would be functional, useful, and relevant.
I would hate to purchase that and not be able to run the newest games in the next few years, or see another laptop that's more aesthetically pleasing and better come out within a couple of months after placing this purchase.

From my understand AMD just did something amazing with processors, and I was just informed that NVIDIA will be rolling out with a new line up here soon, which kind of leaves me wondering when I should really be purchasing a notebook.
I figure it would likely be a couple of years before someone released a laptop that came in a 17 inch with a good display, including all the new bells and whistles, and would most definitely cost more than what I'm wanting to pay now, right?
If anyone wants to step in and talk about the MSI Creator 17 and answer any of my questions regarding it, or give me any laptop recommendations.. I would greatly appreciate it.
