so my build is kind of old and i find myself caping my ram a lot now with only 16gb available.
my set up is:
M5A78L-M asus motherboard
AMD FX-8350 Black edition 8 core proccessor
4X 4GB ballistix tactical 240 pin ddr3 SDRAM 1600
MSI GeForce GTX 980 gaming 4G GPU

looking to go up to 32GB of ram and im not sure which one to get trying to keep it below 250$ for some good ram.

Not really worth it on that build. Probably won't even be able to find it.

I did manage to find some 1600Mhz at Corsair... this isn't on you memory compatibility list, but it's probably fine. Those memory compatibility lists are always way out of date.

/e Personally, I would just stick with what you have, and save your money till you can upgrade the whole comp. Adding more RAM to that motherboard is just beating a dead horse.

I'm also running an FX 8350 CPU on an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard. I also run 16GB of RAM, even though I have 32GB of RAM here. I bought spares when I bought this motherboard an CPU.

If the pc does what you need get the ram and ignore ghot.
Its 100$ vs 3-400+ dollars.

like saying your brakes/tires are bad so buy a new fucking car.
I see ram everywhere at about 100$ and you can always sell your old kit.
