Here's my issue...
I have 3 SSD's.
1x 64GB
1x 500GB
1x 1TB

I just bought the TB one, so it is fresh and new out the box.
But the problem is with my old 64 and 500gb.
Back when I first built the PC, I was too broke to buy a big SSD, so I got a 64GB for my OS and then a HDD for the rest of my shit.
When I upgraded my HDD to a 500GB SSD, somehow I had messed up my OS and split it among the two SSD's (64GB & 500GB)

So, now when I try to load my PC w/out the 64GB SSD, I get "error, no operating system found"......
... If I unplug the 500GB and run PC, I get "missing system32" problems....

I want to move my OS to the 500GB, totally wipe the 64GB to factory settings, and have a clean 1TB to use on the SSD...

I'm paying for suggestions on how to fix and I'll give you 2k to fix it for me (through some sort of discord vid chat or something)

LMK thanks

If it's Windows 10, just go to this site and use the media builder to make a USB stick to install on the 500GB.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Windows 10 activation is tied to the computer's motherboard.

I guess I can just slap the OS on the 1TB

recommendation for formatting the other two to just be empty drives?

I use EaseUS Partition Master (free)

https://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html

/e I would probably just retire the 64GB. It's gotta be close to end of life by now. I'd hate to see you put something important on it, and have it give up the ghost.

/ee As Art said, you can just use Disk Management in Windows to format the other drives as well.

Since my 1TB is blank, I'm installing OS tool on a 32GB flashdrive and guna unplug the 64GB & the 500GB. Then I'll run and install on the 1TB. then start PC w/ all drives connected, but running OS off 1TB. then I'll format the two drives back...

But, what about my files from the previous two harddrives? How can I clone both to the 1TB?
/edit: I just want to copy over specific files like my chrome setup, games, pics, etc.

For data files, you can just create a folder on the 1TB and copy w/e you want from the old drives, to that folder. Then format the old drives and move w/e data you want, back to the old drives.

Like I said above, I would just avoid using the 64GB drive after you get any data off of it, that you want to keep.

For anything that is "installed" on the old drives... you will need to re-install on the 1TB, or on the 500GB (after it's formatted).

/e Data files are things like pics, your Chrome setup, text files, game save files, bookmarks, etc.

Just do what you said in post #6, but before you format the 500GB and the 64GB get w/e data you want to keep off of those drives. Just make a folder on the 1TB and put it all in there, temporarily.
Then format the 500 and 64GB drives. Install your games and browser on the 1TB. And then use the 500GB for storage or backups... w/e.

/e Another option would be to put the 1TB in your comp..., and boot from the 64GB.
Move (copy) anything important from the 64GB or the 500Gb to the 1TB. Then format the 500GB.
Download and use clonezilla to clone everything from the 64GB... to the 500GB.
Then remove the 64GB. Now, the 500GB will be your new OS drive and the 1TB will be storage.

Either way will work. Just take your time.

/e Doing this is easier than making a rotating sig. You can handle it. :D

/ee The advantage to a clean install of Win 10 is that it will be a nice clean install. But you don't have to do the clean install on the 1TB, if you don't want to.
You can move any important data from the 500GB to a folder on the 1TB... then format the 500GB and install Win 10 there.
